Apple vinegar, a health and beauty elixir

Apples make a very delicate vinegar full of healing virtues. Apple vinegar is truly precious: it’s very rich of mineral salts, it helps balance the level of sodium and potassium and accelerates your metabolism (so your body burns more calories).

The advantages of using apple vinegar for seasoning your dishes

Use apple vinegar together with oil to season your salads, it will have a degreasing effect leaving your salad less oily. It will also add taste without adding too many calories. In fact, apple vinegar has only 4 calories/100 g, nothing if compared to oil, which has 900 calories/100 g. Moreover, vinegar increases the acid level in the stomach, facilitating protein digestion. So start your meal with a nice salad seasoned with a vinaigrette made with 1/3 of apple vinegar and 2/3 of extra virgin olive oil.

Apple vinegar, your ally against overweight

A secret for accelerating your metabolism. If you want to take advantage of the calorie-burning effect of vinegar, we advise you to keep a tablespoon of apple vinegar under your tongue for one minute before meals, or to dilute it in a glass of water and drink it slowly before your meal. Not only your diet will be more effective, but you will also improve your digestion. Since apple vinegar comes from brewed apples, it can be considered a natural probiotic. In fact, its “good” bacteria help maintain a healthy and balanced intestine and digestive system.

For a natural deodorant, dilute three tablespoons of vinegar in 1 litre of water. Friction all your body with this tonic, it will give you a pleasant anti-odour effect.

Hair cosmetic treatments

Degreasing and brightening effect. Apple vinegar is less aggressive than wine vinegar and it will be a real panacea for your hair. Here is how you can use it.

Apply some vinegar on your hair before the final rinse. It will close the hair shaft scales, so your hair will look brighter and feel smoother. Vinegar also removes the last traces of shampoo and conditioner, leaving your hair softer and lighter.

This is how you can do it yourself at home. Fill a bottle with 1 litre of lukewarm water, better if demineralized, that is without or with a low percentage of limescale (you can find it at the supermarket). Add 2 tablespoons of vinegar (not more than two, or you might obtain the opposite effect). Wash hair with shampoo and hair conditioner then pour the content of the bottle over your head, making it drip along the hair. Rinse with water, better if demineralized.
